Recently, I voiced a commercial for a cosmetic product that strengthens hair in women over 40, especially during menopause.
Although I am 50 years old, my natural voice does not sound like it; in fact, most of my jobs require a voice younger than my age—fresh and dynamic. However, one of my greatest strengths is vocal versatility: I can perform everything from young voices—teenagers or women in their 20s and 30s—to mature and senior voices, even those over 50.
How do I achieve that vocal versatility, this time to produce a mature voice?
With age, the female voice naturally gains depth and loses high tones. This involves changes in the larynx and vocal cords:
The thickening and increased mass of the vocal cords provide depth.
The lowering of the larynx favors a deeper sound.
Resonance increases in the chest and throat area.
Greater use of the chest register compared to the head register for a warmer, more mature timbre.
Thanks to years of training, I control and moderate these aspects to adapt to each project, from fresh and youthful voices to warm and mature ones, with naturalness and emotion.
Why choose a versatile voice?
A versatile voice-over artist allows agencies and brands to cover multiple profiles without losing consistency or quality. The same professional can bring very different voices to life: young, adult, senior, or child.
This flexibility provides speed and confidence in any campaign.
