Narrating documentaries for La2: a dream come true.

Narrating documentaries for La2: a dream come true.

My grandfather used to watch documentaries every afternoon, so since I was a child, I developed an absolute fascination for them. The voice-over that guided those stories of animals, cultures, and landscapes seemed magical to me. Today, as a professional voice-over artist in Spanish and Catalan, I can say that I have fulfilled that dream: I am a documentary narrator for La 2 (RTVE).

One of the projects that has moved me the most was “A Pack of Cheetahs” (Una manada de guepardos), an episode now available on RTVE Play, where I voice the story of a mother cheetah and her cubs. Currently, I am also narrating the French documentary “Titans of the Sea”, a visually stunning work about the marine ecosystem.

La 2 and the great voices of documentaries

La 2 (RTVE) is the benchmark channel in Spain for documentaries and scientific outreach. Programs like Grandes Documentales, broadcast since the 80s following the legendary Saber y Ganar, have left an impact on generations.

Legendary dubbing and narration voices have passed through their studios, such as José María del Río, who narrated hundreds of nature documentaries during the 80s and 90s with his deep and serene voice. Later, Juan Ignacio Ocaña became one of the main voices for major BBC productions, such as Life in the Undergrowth or Planet Earth.

Being able to be part of that tradition today deeply moves me. Providing the voice for documentaries on La 2 is a technical and emotional challenge, but above all, it is a commitment to the viewer. With every text I narrate, I try to keep that legacy alive: a warm, clear voice with phonetic precision, capable of conveying emotion without overshadowing the content.
